Trajectory Buys Trends Database

London-based social and consumer trend forecasting firm Trajectory Partnership has acquired the GLIMPSES trends database from research, consultation and communication charity The Tomorrow Network. Terms were not disclosed.

Paul FlattersTrajectory Partnership was established in 2008 by Managing Partners Paul Flatters, Future Foundations co-founder Michael Willmott and former Henley Centre MD Chris Farmelo and aims to apply the full range of qual and quant methods to social analysis and forecasting.

The GLIMPSES database provides a 'map' of recent social, economic and demographic trends, to help people answer three questions: Where have we come from?, Where are we going? and What do we need to think about? It features a free searchable guide to issues such as globalisation, lifestyles, media, politics and sustainability.

Additionally, it allows users to leave comments and to create, debate and discuss other useful resources. It also contains a calendar which highlights key updates, debates and events of interest to the GLIMPSES community.

As part of the deal, Trajectory researchers will contribute content and analysis to the database, and in the future, the firm is planning to make primary research available through the service.

'GLIMPSES is a fantastic resource for those thinking about the future,' Flatters comments. 'Trajectory is indebted to The Tomorrow Project for asking us to take it on and develop it further while maintaining its core values.'
