UK Agency Beats Recession, Doubles Turnover

Derbyshire, UK-based agency DJS Research has bucked the downturn with an exceptional year of growth in 2009-10. Turnover is close to the £1m mark and four new permanent staff in two months bring the total to sixteen.

DJS was set up in 2001 by Danny Sims, who worked as a freelance researcher for other research agencies. Now a full service agency, the company has seen turnover growth year on year.

New recruits in the last two months include three SREs: Sarah Smith, formerly of Conquest Research; Maya Winter, who joins from Ci Research; and Lyn Allen, previously at Harris Interactive. Also new is Matt Coulling, previously of Quaestor, who becomes Head of Data Services.

In addition to the 16 permanent staff, DJS employs 15 temporary telephone interviewers at its High Peak office.

Research Director James Hinde says the firm gives clients 'senior Directors / Researchers from start to finish', leading to insightful results, and adds: 'I believe now, more than ever, clients are looking to stretch their research budgets and achieve 'more for less', which is something we offer.'

MD Danny Sims says he is optimistic about the future and aims to build 'the strongest research team in the North West.'

The firm is online at www.djsresearch.com .
