TNS RI and Wunderman Pair for African Digital Insight

WPP-owned sister firms TNS Research International and digital agency Wunderman have partnered in Africa, to help clients maximize opportunities in the 'digital sphere', while providing information about the potential of mobile Internet.

Chris HarrisonTNS RI has worked in more than 34 African countries in the past 12 months, offering a range of projects from communication and ad testing and tracking, to market opinion and consumer understanding.

Wunderman operates from four regional hub offices in Kenya (East Africa), Nigeria (West Africa), La Reunion (Indian Ocean) and South Africa.

The firms say their partnership will offer the 'best understanding' of African consumer habits and digital marketing. 'Thanks to our regular studies, our clients are well-briefed on the opportunities in the digital sphere,' explains Melissa Baker, CEO of TNS in East Africa. '. What they often lack is an agency that can tell them how to maximize those opportunities, and Wunderman is one of the first agencies on the continent to make commercial sense of the Internet for its clients.'

Next month, the companies will launch 'Digital Life East Africa', an in-depth research project supported by the Kenya ICT Board, about the needs of online users.

'We want Wunderman clients to be the best informed marketers on the continent when it comes to the real potential of mobile Internet. That's the fastest growing channel in Africa,' adds Wunderman Chairman, Chris Harrison (pictured).
