Rentrak 'Eliminates' Papagan's Role as President

US-based multi-screen media measurement specialist Rentrak has eliminated the position of President, held by Ken Papagan, and transferred the responsibilities to Cathy Hetzel who heads its Advanced Media and Information division.

Ken Papagan and Cathy HetzelPapagan joined the firm in 2002 with more than 30 years' experience with major media and entertainment companies. He took on the role of President in 2007, working with the Chairman and the Board to set the strategic direction of the company, and leading new business initiatives in cross-platform reporting.

Prior to joining the firm, Papagan worked for Internet consulting firm iXL, and founded several TV networks including Qube, Nickelodeon, MTV, The Movie Channel and The Fashion Channel.

In a statement, Rentrak explained: 'Ken Papagan's role at Rentrak has been eliminated and during the transition period he will serve as a consultant to the company working directly with Bill Livek, Rentrak Corporation's CEO.'

The elimination of the role was revealed in a regulatory filing and the firm did not provide any further information.

Hetzel joined Rentrak in 2004 following a one-year consulting relationship with the company. She was previously SVP, Business Development at Concero, an interactive TV, VOD and electronic commerce services company.
