Borrell Buys Media Researcher Belden Interactive

In the US, Borrell Associates has acquired media industry research agency Belden Interactive. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Greg HarmonSan Francisco-based Belden is a custom news media research and consulting firm which works with newspapers, broadcasters, digital media and advertisers to help them prepare and adapt for a digital future. As well as online research, the firm offers quant and qual telephone and secondary research services.

Borrell, which is led by CEO Gordon Borrell, provides local market advertising revenue estimates and other interactive media consulting services, including sales training. The Williamsburg, VA-headquartered company also produces industry-related advertising reports and revenue benchmarking for local web sites.

As part of the deal, co-founder and CEO Greg Harmon (pictured) takes up the post of Senior Research Analyst with Borrell. He set up Belden Interactive as a division of the former Belden Associates in 2000, and developed the Sales and Site Survey and Belden Visitor Estimate research programs.
