Mzinga Hires Technology Veteran as CEO

US-based social intelligence services and analytics firm Mzinga has appointed software industry veteran Alan Nugent as Chief Executive Officer.

Al NugentThrough a combination of technology, strategy and online moderation services, Mzinga helps clients improve brand visibility, workplace satisfaction and customer loyalty. The firm currently monitors more than 15,000 communities and 2.5 billion monthly page requests from 40 million unique visitors in 160 countries worldwide.

Last summer, Mzinga updated its flagship product OmniSocial, allowing for integration into social web platforms including Facebook.

Nugent joins from CA Technologies, where he served as EVP and CTO. Prior to this he combined SVP and CTO roles at Novell, MunichRe/American Re (also CIO), and Xerox Corporation. Before this he was Technologist and Software Architect at BellSouth Corporation. He began his career at Hewlett-Packard, and during the 1980s founded three technology start-ups.

Nugent will be based in Mzinga's corporate HQ in Waltham, MA.
