Alterian Social Media Tool to Track Greek Chat

UK-based analytics software company Alterian has upgraded its social media monitoring tool SM2, by adding the ability to track conversation sentiment in Greek.

Bob BarkerAlterian worked alongside Greek business intelligence firm Business as a Service (BaaS) to programme the Greek dictionary and co-develop the Greek sentiment analysis system, as well as testing accuracy.

Bob Barker, VP of Corporate Marketing and Digital Engagement at Alterian states that Greece currently has a population of 10.8 million, with 4.9 million people actively online.

'The Internet isn't restricted by geographical boundaries, so there is no reason why social media monitoring should be held back by differences in language,' Barker says. 'By offering the most comprehensive language and sentiment capability available on the global market, we are ensuring that social media monitoring can grow on both a local and global scale.'
