Webtrends and ShopIgniter in Social Media Insight 'First'

In the US, eCommerce software company ShopIgniter and analytic solutions company Webtrends have announced a partnership to offer what they say is the industry's 'first enterprise-grade social commerce analytics solution.'

Matt ComptonWebtrends' analytics knowhow and ShopIgniter's platform will combine data from purchase and product interactions to produce hard metrics for promotions and earned media across Facebook and Twitter, understand influence spread and penetration across all media, and measure 'all' the other incentive and promotional aspects of campaigns.

James McDermott, VP of Business Development at Webtrends, says ShopIgniter's platform approach is 'years ahead of all the feature widgets just now coming to market and was a key reason for us partnering with the industry leader.'

Matt Compton, CEO of ShopIgniter, adds: 'In the world of social commerce, a brand or retailer's most valuable customer is not necessarily the one that spends the most money, but rather, the customer that influences the most purchases. The only way to truly understand customer value in the age of social media is to combine purchase and product interaction data with social network referral, response and sharing behavior.'

The ShopIgniter/Webtrends social commerce analytics solution is available at multiple pricing tiers to all ShopIgniter customers. The basic social commerce analytics package is available at no additional cost to ShopIgniter customers.
