Usabilla Closes $1m Funding for Web Testing Tool

Amsterdam-based online usability testing firm Usabilla has closed a $1m (EUR 750k) funding round. In addition to international expansion, the firm will use the money to scale its technology and ensure compatibility with platforms such as mobile, tablets and television.

Paul VeugenFounded in 2009, Usabilla enables marketers, analysts, designers and usability experts to collect visual, quantitative user feedback on their web sites. Participants answer questions about user experience through notes on top of a web page, mockup, or sketch. Results are then analyzed and presented visually with charts and heat maps.

'Usabilla helps our customers continuously gain valuable insights about the user experience of their web site in a way that it is fun and easy for their users,' states CEO and founder Paul Veugen (pictured). 'We offer companies quick and meaningful insight into user experience at any stage of the design process.'

The firm's latest funding has been led by venture capital firm Boralis BV, and five undisclosed angel investors from the US and Europe.

Marque Joosten, Founding Partner of Boralis, says the investment will provide Usabilla with the resources it needs to reach 'international maturity' at a rapid pace.
