Welsh Language Broadcaster Debuts Viewer Panel

In the UK, Welsh language television broadcaster S4C has launched a new viewer feedback panel, to be managed by Beaufort Research and used to help develop future schedules.

Arwel Ellis OwenCardiff-based Beaufort will be recruiting 100 people aged 16+ from all areas of Wales to join S4C's panel, Panel Pobl Cymru S4C.

The panel will include Welsh learners, non-Welsh speakers and people who are fluent in Welsh, and will be split between viewers, 'light viewers' and non-viewers' of S4C's programmes.

Members will be required to participate for a period of one year, during which time they will take part in regular discussions in their own area, with a chance to speak with programme makers. Beaufort Research may also contact panel members at other times during the year to carry out surveys by telephone, online or by post.

S4C CEO Arwel Ellis Owen (pictured) explains: 'S4C is going through a period of change and wants TV viewers across Wales to help it develop the best programmes and services for the future. We want a Channel that is relevant to all the people of Wales, and this is part of the process of widening our appeal even more.'
