HubSpot Buys Social Media Specialist oneforty

US Internet marketing and analytics specialist HubSpot has acquired social media management platform oneforty. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Brian HalliganCambridge, MA-based oneforty is the creator of social media management platform SocialBase, as well as a directory of social media apps which serves as a buyers' guide for social strategists and marketers.

Through the latter, the firm's online community rates and shares feedback on social media monitoring, brand tracking and analytics tools.

Earlier in the year, HubSpot raised $32m in Series D funding, and acquired web analytics firm Performable, founded by former Compete CTO David Cancel.

As part of its latest acquisition, the oneforty directory will be merged with HubSpot's own App Marketplace, while SocialBase will be incorporated into the HubSpot product.

oneforty was founded by Laura Fitton, who is the co-author of Twitter for Dummies and previously founded Twitter business consultancy Pistachio. She and her staff will join the HubSpot team in its Cambridge office.

HubSpot CEO Brian Halligan (pictured) comments: 'Having oneforty join our team and working with them on transforming marketing is exciting. The combined social media expertise will benefit all our customers.'
