Former Adobe Exec Replaces Fong as Lithium CEO

In the US, social media solutions firm Lithium Technologies has appointed former Adobe exec Rob Tarkoff as Chief Executive Officer, replacing co-founder Lyle Fong who has taken on the title of Chief Strategist, while retaining his Board Director role.

Rob Tarkoff and Lyle FongLithium provides 'Social Customer Relationship Management' (Social CRM) solutions, to enable companies to create and manage their own social customer networks, and focus on conversations across the 'social web'.

Under Fong's leadership, last year, Lithium raised $18m in Series C equity funding, and then acquired social media monitoring company Scout Labs.

Tarkoff most recently served as SVP and GM of Adobe's Digital Enterprise Solutions business, where he oversaw the web content management and digital asset management solutions gained through Adobe's acquisition of Day Software. Before this, he held several senior positions at EMC Corporation, was EVP and Chief Strategy Officer at Documentum, and SVP of Worldwide Business Development at Commerce One.

Commenting on Tarkoff's appointment, Fong said: 'Lithium has experienced record growth in one of the fastest growing categories in enterprise software. We've searched for a world-class leader with a proven track record of operational excellence to help us scale our success. I feel tremendously fortunate to have Rob join us - not only for his experience, but also the authenticity he brings which is so critical in the social space.'
