Ipsos China Restructures for Synovate Integration
Following its recent acquisition of Synovate and in line with plans to withdraw the Synovate brand in January, Ipsos has restructured its team in China. Five 'Combined Country Managers' will ready the businesses for integration while ensuring they run separately until the end of the year.
Ipsos completed the £528.8m acquisition in October, forming the third largest market research company in the world.
Ipsos has more than 2,000 full-time professional staff located around Greater China, part of its Asia Pacific region, which also includes North East Asia, South East Asia, India and Australia.
Alick Zhou (pictured) remains in post as CEO of Ipsos in Greater China, with responsible for both the Ipsos and Synovate businesses until the end of the year. He will lead the combined company in the region from 1st January 2012.
Reporting to Zhou, Helen Lee continues to serve in the role of Managing Director of Ipsos in Greater China, responsible for the Operations divisions of both businesses, along with all other supporting functions.
Former Synovate exec Larry Wu has been named Chief Research Officer of Ipsos in Greater China, with a focus on all research aspects of both businesses. He joined Synovate in 2003 as a Director in the Asia Pacific region.
Darlene Lee takes up the post of Managing Director of Ipsos in Hong Kong, to ensure the smooth operation of both businesses there. She joined Synovate in August as MD of Retail and Lifestyle Research, having previously held senior roles with TNS in Taiwan, China and New York.
Finally, Alan Chien will lead the Ipsos Taiwan team in the role of Managing Director, responsible for all issues relating to the combined businesses in the country.
Announcing the appointments, Ipsos Group Co-Presidents Didier Truchot and Jean Marc Lech described the integration as a 'Better Ipsos'.
