Firefish Readies for First International Office

UK-based market research agency Firefish is planning to expand to Amsterdam next month, with the opening of its first international office headed by former Synovate Qual Insights Director Kees Van Duyn.

Established in 2000, Firefish offers both qual and quant services, and last June launched a specialist children and families research consultancy called 'The Pineapple Lounge'.

For the past two years, Van Duyn worked at Synovate, where he was responsible for the strategic interpretation of qual research findings. Prior to this, he was an Associate Director at GfK Blue Moon Research + Planning, a Consultant at The Leading Edge, and Research Director at Open Mind Research Group. He began his career as a Research Executive with Interview-NSS.

Commenting on Van Duyn's appointment as Managing Director of Firefish Netherlands, CEO Jem Fawcus said: 'Kees is a great researcher who shares our belief that research should interpret and inspire, as well as inform. He is the perfect person to lead our first office outside the UK.'
