Market intelligence company Mintel has today announced the opening of three offices in the Asia Pacific region. Already open for business, the three are located in Mumbai, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

Mintel already has ten offices worldwide including Sydney, Shanghai and Tokyo, but says customer demand in the region has driven this further expansion.

The Singapore office, which has been operational since the 1st of January, will be led by Ian Wilson, General Manager for SE Asia and will service clients in that country and also in Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. Director of Research Matthew Crabbe will manage the Kuala Lumpur office. Crabbe previously worked for Access Asia which Mintel acquired in October last year. Matthew Nelson, Sales Head of India has been running the Mumbai office since October.

John Hore, Managing Director of Mintel Asia Pacific, said: 'With the rapid growth and increasing global relevance of the Asia Pacific region, Mintel is committed to providing its unique brand of consumer insight and market intelligence to its clients. In addition, we are extending and expanding our coverage of India, Malaysia and Singapore - from greater report coverage and more breadth and depth to the industries covered. We see Asia Pacific as a key area for the future and as such, we are now focusing significant investment in the region.'
