Group revenue therefore grew 12% to $427.7m, while net income rose 23% and normalized EBITDA was up 17% to $84.8m.

In the full year, Consulting saw a 1% decline to $308m, again balanced by a rapid rise for Events, up 21% to $148.5m. Total Group revenue rose 14% to 1.469bn, net income was $136.9m, and normalized EBITDA increased 21% to $279.4m.

Commenting on the figures, CEO Gene Hall said: 'We achieved record levels of new business and contract value, maintained strong client and wallet retention, and many of our other key business metrics continued their strong performance during the fourth quarter. As we look ahead to 2012, we are excited about the opportunity we see in the market, and we expect to deliver another year of double-digit growth as measured by our key business metrics.'
