Experian Buys Public Data Aggregator Court Ventures
Global information services giant Experian has strengthened its consumer data operations in North America with the acquisition of public data aggregator Court Ventures. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2001, Court Ventures sources, collates, repackages and distributes publicly available electronic civil and consumer data, obtained from more than 1,400 state and county sources. The firm also provides access to a national criminal record database containing information about felony convictions made since 1983, as well as details about US marriages/divorces.
The company has been acquired from its founding shareholder Rob Gundling, who will now focus on his wine club business OC Custom Wine.
Following the transaction, Court Ventures becomes part of Experian's Credit Services division in North America.
