Publicis Buys UX Specialist Indigo Consulting

Ad giant Publicis has acquired India-based digital marketing and technology agency Indigo Consulting, which offers a variety of services such as usability research and testing, search engine optimization, and social media marketing. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Vikas TandonIndigo was founded in 2000 and currently employs a team of 160 at its Mumbai headquarters and Delhi office. The firm works on the development of web sites, software solutions and digital marketing programs for clients around the world, while its user experience division UX Labs helps clients observe how real users interact with their web sites, and measure them against benchmarks and best practices.

Following the acquisition, Indigo will retain its name and operate as a unit within the Publicis-owned Leo Burnett Group in India. Its founder, Vikas Tandon (pictured), will remain as MD, reporting into Arvind Sharma, Chairman of the Indian Subcontinent for Leo Burnett.

Jarek Ziebinski, President of Leo Burnett Asia Pacific, comments: 'Our growth strategy for Leo Burnett in India and Asia Pacific is based on two core pillars: digital and shopper-marketing. I see Indigo Consulting developing beyond India, to become an important player within our network in Asia Pacific and globally.'
