Irish and Bulgarian MR Associations Join efamro

MR bodies AIMRO (the Association of Irish Market Research Organisations) and BAMOR (Bulgarian Association of Marketing and Opinion Researchers) are the latest to join the European Research Federation (efamro).

Andrew CannonAIMRO was established in January 1993 and BAMOR as recently as December 2009. They currently represent ten and thirteen businesses respectively. The news follows last month's decisions by Polish MR association OFBOR and Lithuanian body LRSTA, which between them added 33 member businesses.

Netherlands-based efamro now represents more than 900 research companies, accounting for 26% of the global research industry, or just over EUR 6.2 billion. The body has recently joined its Asian and US counterparts to co-found worldwide partnership the Global Research Business Network (www.grbn.org ).

Commenting the new members, Andrew Cannon (pictured), efamro President, said: 'For nearly 20 years, AIMRO has promoted and advanced the business of research in Ireland. Less than three years ago, research businesses in Bulgaria came together to form BAMOR. Our new members illustrate the continued importance and relevance of national research associations. We look forward to their contribution and to supporting them as they develop in the future.'
