Rocket Fuel Gets $50m for International Expansion
In the US, real-time targeting firm Rocket Fuel has raised $50m in new financing, earmarked for rapid global growth, recruitment and technological development.
Rocket Fuel's ad network uses proprietary response prediction and targeting technology to deliver digital ads designed to drive engagement with online customers. The approach combines behavioural, contextual, geographic, demographic and other techniques.
The latest funding round was led by previous investor Northgate Capital, with two new companies: Summit Partners and Cross Creek Capital; and brings the total raised to more than $76m.
CEO George John (pictured) comments: 'I've been working on the problem of serving the right ad to the right person at the right time since the mid-1990s, and at Rocket Fuel, we're solving it with a precision and scale that I've never come close to at previous companies like Yahoo! and IBM. This financing will add an important layer of financial strength and provide the foundation for our long-term growth plans.'
