Pollster Rasmussen to Host US TV Show

American public opinion pollster and author Scott Rasmussen has signed up to host a nationally syndicated TV show called 'What America Thinks', which will draw on his data on the latest political, economic, business and lifestyle issues.

The new half-hour show, which will debut next month, will be aired on Sundays on 50 stations across the country. Described as a 'panel-driven weekly', the program will also supply the affiliated stations with daily updates on the latest polling data that can be used as part of their local newscasts.

Rasmussen (pictured), who earlier in his career co-founded sports network ESPN, started a polling company called GrassRoots Research in 1995, and after re-branding it as Rasmussen Research sold it to TownPagesNet.com in 1999.

Since 2003, he has run Rasmussen Reports, which provides an online audience for public opinion data, as well as a busy social media platform. The firm tracks politics, consumer confidence and business topics, while also measuring the US President's job approval ratings on a daily basis.
