Anametrix Raises $4.4m to Fuel Product Innovation
In the US, business analytics firm Anametrix has raised $4.4m in Series A funding, which it plans to use to expand its sales and marketing efforts, and fuel product innovation in predictive analytics.
San Diego, California-headquartered Anametrix was founded in 2010 by Blaise Barrelet (pictured), founder of analytics pioneer WebSideStory. Since the launch, the firm has opened sales and technical operations in London and Amsterdam, and closed an initial $1.15m round of investment.
The firm's solutions integrate very large amounts of data from disparate sources including web analytics, social media, search engine marketing (SEM), video and audio, e-mail campaigns, market research surveys, point of sale (POS) and customer relationship management (CRM). It then uses this data to uncover trends and correlations, as well as information about customers and prospects.
Its latest round of funding has been raised from TVC Capital, whose co-founder Steve Hamerslag joins the Anametrix Board of Directors.
Barrelet comments: 'At Anametrix, we did not just want money from a traditional VC; we wanted a partner who shares our vision for San Diego becoming a hub for analytics technology. We have that partner in TVC Capital, a high-growth equity investor with hands-on operational experience and a proven track record for smart technology bets.'
