Effective Measure Names South African MD

Digital audience specialist Effective Measure has appointed former ABC UK exec Alan Morrissey as Country Managing Director in South Africa.

Alan MorrisseyThe firm - which along with its South Africa office has operations in Dubai, New York, Sydney, and Bangkok - uses 'Digital Helix' technology to overcome issues with cookie deletion and unique visitor audience calculation.

Morrisey (pictured) is originally from South Africa but joins from media auditor ABC UK, where as Senior Sales & Account Manager he managed more than 220 digital accounts in the UK, Ireland and elsewhere in EMEA, and developed relationships with partners such as Webtrends, comScore, IBM Coremetrics, Nielsen and Effective Measure itself. Before joining ABC UK in 2005, he worked for retailer Londis, and for Genmet Engineering in Durban, South Africa.

In his new role, Morrisey will lead efforts to increase awareness and adoption of Effective Measure's research and planning solutions across South Africa. He will also work closely with the country's independent digital media advocacy association, the Digital Media and Marketing Association (DMMA).

Morrisey takes over the role on 1st November from Francois Vorster, who was recently appointed MD of DigMe Digital Media in Johannesburg.
