Partners Open Big Data to Not-So-Big Users

Analytics specialist Kognitio has announced a partnership with NeutrinoBI, developer of a data discovery and visualization tool, aimed at 'democratising' the power of big data.

Announcing the joint offering at the Gartner Symposium ITXPO in Barcelona, the partners said their new solution will give business end-users without specialist technical knowledge the ability to probe their data at high speed, using natural language, via the Kognitio Analytical Platform. The firms will also implement a complete business intelligence infrastructure and make it available on a self-service basis through Kognitio's Cloud interface.

NeutrinoBI, which was launched by US firm Neutrino Concepts in October 2011, facilitates 'Internet-like' searches on structured data, using natural language; and the rapid creation of dynamic dashboards

The two firms say the result is 'true self-service business intelligence', giving small- and mid-sized firms the chance to run the big data tasks previously restricted to much larger companies, 'in far less time, at far less cost', and without the intense technical knowledge previously required.

NeutrinoBI CEO Jon Woodward describes Kognitio Cloud as delivering 'the piece that completes our vision', adding: 'Together, our firms are providing a system that makes business intelligence a reality for people who couldn't previously afford it, or couldn't fully understand how to make it work.'

Michael Hiskey, Kognitio VP of Marketing and Business Development, comments: 'NeutrinoBI's 'ask anything' search bar interface is a perfect fit for the super high-throughput, high-performance enabled by the Kognitio Analytical Platform'.
