Chedore Takes Chair at Asian Agency

Former Synovate Global CEO Adrian Chedore has joined Asia-focused MR consultancy ABN Impact as Chairman.

Adrian ChedoreChedore's four decades of research experience include spells as Regional MD of Frank Small & Associates in Asia Pacific and as MD of AGB McNair in Hong Kong, as well as earlier research, ad and branding roles in the UK. In 1991 he was one of the founders of Asia Market Intelligence (AMI), which was acquired by Aegis in 2000. When Aegis formed Synovate, in 2005, Chedore became Global CEO, leading the agency until 2009 when he handed over to Robert Philpott.

ABN Impact CEO Maziar Amirahmad, who spent eleven years with AMI / Synovate in Hong Kong, Japan and Thailand, says Chedore's appointment has been made 'to further facilitate the consultancy's expansion and growth opportunities in both geographical and operational terms'. He continues: 'In the past few months we have rebranded the company and expanded into Hong Kong, where we have already been successful in setting up large-scale community panels. Adrian has unparalleled experience in developing market research in Asia, he is a true pioneer and will be bringing new levels of thought leadership and strategic vision to the firm.'

Chedore, who was made a Non-Executive Director at Vision Critical two years ago, says his new firm is 'the AMI of the new era', explaining: 'Social media and new technologies are creating fantastic new opportunities in market research. ABN Impact is at the forefront of introducing these to Asia... It reminds me of the spirit we had when we set up Asia Market Intelligence.'
