Former comScore Exec to Lead App Annie Market Insights

In San Francisco, app store analytics firm App Annie has appointed former comScore exec Shelene Chang as Principal Analyst, responsible for heading up its global Market Insights team.

The firm provides app ranking data and mobile analytics - app store download, sales and other app store data for iOS & Android - from offices in Beijing, Paris, San Francisco, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Last August, it secured $6m in Series B financing, which it is now using to accelerate take-up of its products and increase its presence across the US, China and Japan.

Chang (pictured) joins after more than eight years at comScore, where she latterly served as a Senior Director. During her time with the company, she initially conducted market research and provided consulting services to digital media clients on their audience, search and ad analytics needs. Subsequently, she held account management and sales roles, and worked in the Product Management team delivering new ad analytics offerings.

Bertrand Schmitt , App Annie CEO, welcomes Chang's strong background in data analysis, and says she will serve as 'an invaluable resource to media and analysts looking for expert commentary and analysis on the app economy.'
