Gartner Annual Research Revenue Up 12%

Technology specialist Gartner saw revenues in its Research division rise 14% to $300.2m in the three months ended December 31, 2012, while for the full year, they climbed 12% to $1.13 billion.

Gene HallOverall, the company reported an 11% year-on-year rise in fourth quarter revenue to $474.7m, with the Consulting division reporting an 8% decrease to $81.9m, and the Events arm a 21% rise to $92.6m. During Q4, Gartner's net income increased 31% to $58.8m, and normalized EBITDA rose 14% to $97.0m.

For full year 2012, total company revenue was $1.6 billion, an increase of 10% over 2011, while full year net income climbed 21% to $165.9m, and normalized EBITDA rose 13% to $315.2m.

Gene Hall (pictured), Gartner's CEO, commented: 'Our 2012 results continued our trend of consistent, outstanding performance. Contract value growth has exceeded 14% for the last nine consecutive quarters and we continue to deliver double-digit growth across all of our key metrics. This occurred in a difficult global macro-economic environment.'

For the full year 2013, the company is projecting Research revenue of between $1.2 billion and $1.3 billion, and total revenue of $1.7 billion and $1.8 billion.
