Funds for Big Data Firm Indix

Big data firm Indix has secured $4.5 million in funding from two venture capital firms. Founded in 2010 and operating from late 2011, the company says it will remain in 'stealth mode' until later this year.

The new money, from Nexus Venture Partners and Avalon Ventures, adds to an earlier $1.4m from a seed round, in which Nexus also played part.

Based in Seattle, USA, and Chennai, India, the company is building a cloud-based portfolio aimed at helping clients make the most of their data.

Naren Gupta, co-founder & MD of Nexus, says the company is working on 'a disruptive concept that addresses a compelling need', and adds: 'Indix has a brilliant team and we are very excited to work with them.'
