Millward Brown Expands to Bangladesh

WPP brand and media specialist Millward Brown has opened an office in Dhaka, Bangladesh, headed by Samina Afrin, who recently joined the company from Nielsen.

MB opens in BangladeshThe firm has been working in Bangladesh for several years, but is now establishing a permanent base there to support local, regional and global clients operating in the country. Travyn Rhall, CEO of Millward Brown in Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific says that the launch is part of Millward Brown's business expansion strategy of investing in growing markets, and says the new office will provide a 'solid foundation' from which to grow client partnerships.

Afrin she spent more than a decade at Nielsen, and most recently served as Head of the Customised Research division in Bangladesh. Her background spans the FMCG, telecoms, finance, NGOs, media and pharmaceutical sectors.

In her new role, she reports to Prasun Basu, MD of South Asia, who comments: 'Bangladesh is of critical importance to our regional and global clients, and a large thriving set of local clients who are eager for the best global expertise that companies such as Millward Brown can bring. I'm delighted to be working with Samina and her team to deliver our clients the very best consumer knowledge, insights and advice to maximise the returns on their marketing investments.'

The opening is the company's second new office in the region this year, following the recent launch in Myanmar (Burma).
