MSI Acquires Wealth Management Researcher Cogent

In the US, full service agency Market Strategies International (MSI) has acquired Cogent Research, which specializes in the wealth management sector. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1996, Cogent provides syndicated research products, advanced analytics and advice for clients in the financial services and life science industries.

MD Tony Ferreira will now join MSI's Financial Services division, where he will become SVP and sector lead for Wealth Management. Additionally, founders John Meunier and Christy White will co-manage MSI's new Syndicated Division, while the syndicated products will be renamed Cogent Reports. The rest of the company's 25 employees will remain at its Cambridge, MA base.

Following the deal, MSI plans to bring a range of new offerings to the financial services community, as well as to other industries. A web-based information delivery platform will also be rolled out later this year.
