Ivey Brings Insight to Shine

Television production firm Shine America has appointed former NBCUniversal researcher Kevin Ivey to set up and lead a new research department in Los Angeles.

Kevin IveyThe firm, which develops scripted and unscripted television and digital content, is known for adaptations of Shine Group formats such as MasterChef; scripted series including The Office, Ugly Betty and The Tudors; and original online series on MSN, Yahoo!, YouTube and other platforms.

Ivey (pictured) joins with a background in TV ratings, measurement and methodology, as well as experience in multiplatform research. Most recently he served as VP, Program Research for NBCUniversal's Syfy and Chiller networks, leading the research teams and all program and multi-platform research analysis and tracking. Prior to this he was VP, Multiplatform Research for OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network), and Director, Multiplatform Research at ABC Television Network.

In his new role as Executive Director of Research, Ivey will create a new research department for Shine America, and supply research data to the company's scripted, unscripted, digital, publicity, Shine Latino and Shine 360 teams.

The firm has also appointed former Disney Channel marketer Rob Hughes as VP of Marketing, and both new recruits will report to Vivi Zigler, President Shine 360 & Digital, who comments: 'As we continue to expand our reach, the addition of both marketing and research departments to complement our scripted, unscripted and digital teams was a natural next step for us here at Shine America. Rob and Kevin are the ideal executives to lead us into these two new areas, bringing a wealth of experience in their respective fields.'
