Marriott Veteran to Chair Mindshare Technologies

US-based customer feedback specialist Mindshare Technologies has appointed Marriott Vacations CEO Steve Weisz as Chairman of its Board of Trustees, replacing founder Rich Hanks who is stepping down to serve a three-year mission for his church.

Steve WeiszSalt Lake City-based Mindshare offers automated customer feedback and employee engagement solutions, with proprietary technology developed to capture the 'voice of the customer' in real-time.

Prior to setting up the firm, Hanks himself worked at Marriott International, leading marketing strategy, sales and revenue management. Before this he worked at PepsiCo's Frito-Lay, and at Price Waterhouse. Outside work, he has served at various times as a missionary, youth leader, and lay minister of a congregation.

CEO John Sperry commented: 'I'd like to personally thank our former Chairman of the Board, Rich Hanks, who served in that capacity for eleven years, since the founding of the company.'

Weisz (pictured) has worked at Marriott for 41 years, and currently serves as President and CEO of Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation. During his time with the resort group, he has held a number of leadership positions, including SVP of Rooms Operations; VP of the Revenue Management Group; and SVP of Sales and Marketing for Marriott Hotels, Resorts & Suites.

Sperry adds: 'Mindshare has some very big ambitions for the future, and as we aggressively pursue our long-term goals, we need a solid governance team in place to give us thoughtful and effective direction. Steve is a born leader with fantastic instincts, and is absolutely a great fit.'
