Beyond Verbal Raises Further $1m
Israel-based start-up Beyond Verbal, which offers software which can gauge human emotions by listening to the tone of a voice, has raised a further $1m in a second seed round of funding, and says it will use it for R&D and to market its services.
 The firm launched earlier this year with $2.8m in a round of seed funding. Its software uses ten-to-fifteen second clips of speech, analyses voice modulation, and seeks specific patterns in the way people talk, in order to understand emotions like anger, anxiety, happiness or satisfaction, and pick up nuances in mood, attitude and decision-making characteristics.
The new funding has been led by Israeli seed fund Winnovation, whose co-founder and Managing Partner Barak Ben-Eliezer joins Beyond Verbal's Board.
