NatCen Appoints Four Qual Specialists

UK not-for-profit body NatCen Social Research has bolstered its team with the appointment of four qualitative research specialists.

Shannon Harvey and Kim VowdenLondon-based NatCen focuses on social research to understand social behaviour and inform policy. Last month, the organisation signed a three year partnership agreement with RTI International, through which the two organisations will share knowledge and expertise and build their research capacity and capabilities.

Caroline Paskell and Shannon Harvey join the NatCen Crime and Justice Team in roles to deliver research that has a bearing on front-line child protection. Paskell previously served as Senior Research & Policy Officer at children's charity Barnardo's, while Harvey joins from Against Violence and Abuse, where she led the organisation's research around domestic and sexual violence services.

In addition, Camille Aznar and Kim Vowden join the NatCen Health and Wellbeing team. Aznar previously conducted research for Queen Mary University/Homerton Hospital and the Runnymede Trust while completing her PhD in Social Policy and Administration, and Vowden joins as a Senior Researcher from the Policy Studies Institute, where he was involved in delivering large scale public policy evaluations.

CEO Penny Young comments: 'These new researchers will not only allow us to meet the increasing demand for our qualitative research offer, they increase our policy expertise and the range of work that we will be able to bid for. It shows the continuing strength of NatCen that we attract such experienced and talented individuals.'
