Effective Measure Hires Nielsen's Former CTO

In Melbourne, Australia, digital audience specialist Effective Measure has hired Nielsen's former CTO John Griffin as Global Chief Technology Officer, responsible for leading the firm's software engineering, data application and infrastructure technology teams.

Effective Measure - which also has operations in South Africa, Dubai, New York, Sydney and Bangkok - uses 'Digital Helix' technology to overcome issues with cookie deletion and unique visitor audience calculation.

Griffin (pictured) joined digital research specialist RedSheriff in 2000 as R&D Manager and later CTO, prior to its acquisition by Nielsen//NetRatings in 2003. Griffin then moved across as Director of Engineering, and most recently worked for Nielsen as CTO of the firm's analytics service SiteCensus, where he was responsible for R&D, management of offshore teams, and large volume collection and warehousing systems.

In his new role, commencing in September, he replaces CTO Matt Youill, and will also take on the additional role of Head of Engineering.
