Compass Intelligence Buys MobileTrax Assets

In the US, mobile and wireless research specialist Compass Intelligence has acquired the assets of competitor MobileTrax, and appointed its founder Gerry Purdy as Chief Mobility Strategist. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Compass specializes in segment and vertical market intelligence for the high-tech and telecom industries, including subscription services, reports and more customised recommendations.

Under the Compass Intelligence brand, Purdy (pictured) will continue to monitor and analyze emerging trends, technologies and market behavior in the mobile computing and wireless data comms industry; produce the annual Mobile Awards; and publish the Inside Mobile newsletter which reaches more than 100,000 people every week.
