Zoomkube Adds Facial Recognition to In-Store Kiosk

Interactive marketing display specialist Zoomkube is adding facial recognition software and social media monitoring services to its platform, to enable advertisers to serve personalized offers and content on an in-store display monitor, based on an individual's appearance and behavior.

Zoomkube Debuts In-Store Facial RecognitionThe California-based company specializes in creating mobile touch display units for use in promoting brands to consumers as they shop. These units can be placed anywhere to maximize advertising and campaign exposure, while also recording behavioral data from users, consumer sign-ups and social media activity.

The firm's new ZK100 stand-alone mobile touch display kiosk uses three small cameras built into the display system that take pictures of the consumer standing in front of the monitor. Through the display unit, consumers are invited to enter their e-mail address on to the touchscreen and opt in to receive coupons for special offers. Software will then analyze the person's face to determine their gender, age and appearance, and consequently the types of products to serve. This technology can also measure what the individual looks at on the screen.

VP Christian Mouritzen comments: 'Through our new proprietary campaign management software, we provide quantifiable results for marketers to understand their audience on a personal level. As a company, Zoomkube feels the ZK100 will help build long-term relationships between brands and consumers, anywhere, anytime.'
