IMS Health Strikes African Deal
IMS Health has partnered with the Life Sciences division of BroadReach Healthcare, to offer advisory services, commercial solutions and market measurement for life sciences clients operating in Africa.
 BroadReach currently has African offices in Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia. The alliance combines its knowledge of Africa's healthcare sector and the local regulatory environment with IMS Health's information, analytics, consulting and technology capabilities, to provide clients with support for market assessment and market entry planning across the continent.
IMS Health says it already works with governments, NGOs and private sector stakeholders in the region, while BroadReach has worked closely with aid agencies, regulatory authorities, governments, and pharmaceutical and medical device companies to drive the delivery of healthcare programs since 2003. The two organizations have previously worked together on several joint initiatives, including projects helping clients with strategic planning, pricing and market access, and healthcare implementation.
IMS says that by the end of the year, Africa's healthcare market will be worth around $20 billion, and by 2020 this could reach around $45 billion. BroadReach Healthcare founding Partner Dr John Sargent says that the partnership will help unlock the potential of the African marketplace, while improving healthcare for millions across the continent.
