Vain Men and Stressed Out Women
A series of recent video interviews conducted amongst both sexes by Vox Pops International in the UK has revealed that men think that personal care is extremely important in order to feel and look good and to enhance self confidence, whilst women are struggling to find enough time for themselves due to the demands of family and work.
Although the majority of those men interviewed by Vox Pops claim to use beauty products, ranging from moisturizers to facial scrubs to aftershave lotion, a quick straw poll amongst the males at Mr Web offices reveals that this is not the case!
In this modern day, men are not embarrassed about using products to enhance their looks and they think that it is more acceptable than it used to be. It is no longer solely associated with women and femininity. The most popular brand with these men was Nivea for Men, who prefer to use products specifically aimed at them, although they will use products for women, especially when their mum or partner has bought them.
The women questioned by Vox Pops claim that above all their family was their main priority, leading to a dilemma of whether to pursue their career once they had started a family.
Many claimed that although the role of working mother is increasingly difficult to sustain as children grow older, it allowed them to retain their personal and financial independence. However, this independence comes at a high price as fears of missing their children grow up were raised by other working mums, who also had little or no time for socialising and exercise.
Alarmingly in the era of the so-called 'new man', three quarters of these women said that they would like their man to do more to help at home. The interviews also revealed that the most essential pieces of technology to women are computers and mobile phones, coming ahead of dishwashers and washing machines.
