New CEO for Kantar Japan

Kantar has promoted Hidehiko Otake to the role of Chief Executive of its wholly-owned subsidiary Kantar Japan, replacing Masanori Miyajima who is leaving the business.

Hidehiko OtakeOtake (pictured) most recently served as COO, prior to which he was Managing Officer of Kantar Health Japan, and founded biotech companies Nanoegg Research Laboratories and MPO Inc. Earlier in his career, Otake served as EVP of J. Walter Thompson's direct marketing network ThompsonConnect, and worked as a Consultant at Bain & Company.

In his new role, Otake will report to Wayne Levings, who chairs the Kantar Innovation Board and is responsible for the company's global client programme, in a move designed to promote closer links between the global organisation and Kantar Japan.

Miyajima, whom he replaces, joined the company in 2007 after a career which included senior roles at Nissan Motor Co., Japan General Electric and GE Edison Life Insurance.

Kantar CEO Eric Salama commented: 'I'd like to thank Masanori for all he has done for the business over the past few years. We are fortunate to have Hidehiko in place as his successor. As COO, he has had a significant impact on our clients and the business. As CEO, he brings with him an attitude that will enable us to deliver on the high ambitions we have for Kantar Japan.'
