DLG Buys Community of 'Luxury Professionals'

Research and brand intelligence specialist Digital Luxury Group (DLG) has acquired Luxury Society, an online community of more than 30,000 'luxury professionals' in 150 countries. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Pierre-Yves Poulain and David SadighFounded in 2008, the Paris-based Luxury Society brings together the 'top echelons' from various industries - from automobiles to beauty to hotels - in one 'luxury-focused' community. Members can access content about their sectors, network and interact with one another, and exchange ideas. Resulting feedback is used to inform and connect CEOs, managers, journalists, consultants, designers and analysts from across the sector.

DLG, which has offices in Geneva, New York and Shanghai, has partnered with the firm for many years and produced the World Luxury Index, which offers an analysis of luxury preferences and trends across a variety of goods and services. Luxury Society co-founder and President Pierre-Yves Poulain says that by using DLG's proprietary research capabilities, the combined firms will create the 'leading luxury insights company'.

DLG founder and CEO David Sadigh adds: 'Luxury Society's news and community-based intelligence combined with our recognized proprietary research methodologies will set new standards in the industry. Furthermore, the acquisition opens our first presence in Paris, arguably the luxury capital of the world, giving us the opportunity to be closer to important existing clients.'
