Kantar Media Buys Most of Precise

Kantar Media has acquired a majority stake in Precise Media Group Holdings Limited, which provides monitoring and evaluation services to the PR and communications industries. The price and details of the percentage of shares bought have not been disclosed.

Kantar Media Buys Most of PrecisePrecise was founded in 1996 and is based in London with offices in New York; employs 430 people and had revenues of £28.9m for the year ending 30th September 2013.

The buy will strengthen Kantar Media's offer in media reputation tracking and impact analysis for PR campaigns across traditional and digital media. CEO Andy Brown comments: 'This acquisition in Earned Media measurement continues our strategy of connecting, measuring and providing insights on the entire spectrum of Paid, Owned, Earned media data.'

Precise CEO Peter Low says the firm has 'invested significantly in the technology and the people that underpin its service... has developed immensely strong capabilities in this sector and [is] ready to achieve further growth opportunities.'
