Community Research Expands Team

In the UK, Midlands-based specialist public sector agency Community Research has appointed former Opinion Leader consultant Kate Waller.

Kate WallerFounded in 2009 by former Opinion Leader and ORC International Director Rachel Lopata, Community Research offers full service research and engagement services, to help public sector clients engage in more effective dialogue with their communities and stakeholders. These services include deliberative and collaborative techniques - from small-scale workshops and citizen juries to much larger-scale deliberative events.

Waller (pictured) joins former colleagues Lopata and Rebecca Addis with more than fifteen years' qual and quant experience, gained while working with private, public and third sector organisations. Most recently, she was a Senior Manager at charity Surrey Community Action, prior to which she spent more than six years running her own independent MR consultancy. Earlier, she held senior roles at Opinion Leader, Detica, Hauck Research and Metra Martech Consulting. Her recent work includes qualitative research to support the sponsorship strategy of Lloyds Bank, and a consultation on the drug strategy for a local authority where she was required to access and interview homeless drug users.

Commenting on the appointment, Lopata said: 'As a company we have been growing on an annual basis and Kate's experience is perfect for us. Her career to date is impressive and we already know that she is Associate Director material. We're sure she'll be a big hit with clients too and can't wait to introduce her.'
