FACE's Piers Leonard Dies

Piers Leonard, Research Manager at social media research specialist FACE, has died after a battle with leukaemia.

Piers LeonardLeonard joined the Cello subsidiary in June 2011 after trying his hand at a diverse range of potential careers including account planning at McCann London, marketing and copywriting, travel writing in Berlin, and aid work as a Medical Missionary in Rwanda in 2009. He earned a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature/Letters at Trinity College, Dublin, completed in 2008.

At FACE, he was responsible for day-to-day management and delivery of research projects combining traditional qual methods with online communities and co-creation; and he worked as part of the Social Media team, using the proprietary social listening tool PulsarTRAC. He was promoted to Research Manager in 2014 in recognition of an outstanding contribution to both project work and guiding new arrivals to the team.

The company said: 'It is with the greatest sadness that FACE has to announce the passing of one its most treasured employees, Piers Leonard, who has died following a short yet brave fight with leukaemia. Piers was a much-loved colleague and friend who touched people daily with his fierce intellect, dry wit, and interesting jumper / chino combinations. A total one off, Piers married attitude with a precocious talent, and could have gone on to be anything he wanted to be. He leaves a huge hole in the company, yet his legacy will live on forever. Goodbye Piers, you're gone but you'll never ever be forgotten'.
