Senior Data Hire for Video Ad Platform Pixability

In the US, YouTube video ad buying and marketing platform Pixability has appointed John Baker as Chief Data Scientist.

John BakerWith bases in Boston, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, and London, Pixability offers a platform to help brands and their agencies find and run the best placements on YouTube, while its analytics helps them understand brands' position in the video market.

Baker (pictured) previously served as CEO & Chief Scientist at cross-function analytics specialist DataKin; before which he was Director of Analytics at emotion measurement specialist Affectiva. Earlier in his career, he was Director of Analytics at advocacy marketing agency Moontoast (now Spendsetter); and he co-founded and served as CTO of Performance Analytics before selling the company in 2012. He is also the founder of The Data Scientist group, which has 4,000 members across chapters in Boston, New York and Washington DC.

In his new role, Baker will lead Pixability's Data Science team, diving into large sets of video marketing data to drive business impact for brand and agency clients. He reports to CTO Andreas Goeldi, who comments: 'We are thrilled to have such an experienced data scientist on board, with a multi-disciplinary toolset and a passion for leading high-performing teams. John has proven his ability to set the vision for, and lead the development of, complex analytics and data engineering solutions, and will be an asset to Pixability's data science organization'.
