Britain Thinks Hires Livermore to Build Consulting Offer

London-based opinion and behaviour consultancy Britain Thinks has hired former Treasury and Prime Ministerial adviser Spencer Livermore as a Partner, with a remit to build a new strategy consulting offer for the firm.

Spencer LivermoreLivermore worked for the New Labour government for ten years, as Chief Strategy Adviser to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and Director of Strategy to the Prime Minister. He was also a senior adviser on four General Election campaigns, and is now a member of the House of Lords.

He has also worked over twenty years as a consultant for multinational companies and senior leaders on their reputation, brand, and communication challenges. Most recently, he was Director of Strategy and built a consulting division for business reputation consultancy Blue Rubicon, with which Britain Thinks has worked for a number of years; and previously he worked at ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi Fallon.

Livermore will help Britain Thinks - founded five years ago by Partners Deborah Mattinson, Viki Cooke and Ben Shimshon, to expand its offering to become 'a genuinely integrated international insight and strategy consultancy'. Mattinson says of the appointment: 'Spencer's appointment is a huge coup for Britain Thinks. His experience is unparalleled and will be immensely valuable to our clients. We have always sought to lead the industry in the quality of our insight and our level of innovation and creative thinking. Now, Spencer's role will be to develop our strategic capability and take it to a new level, enabling us not only to provide outstanding insight for our clients, but to develop strategies to help them achieve their goals'.

Six months ago, the firm appointed another former New Labour strategist, Julia Ridpath, who had served as MP Harriet Harman's Campaigns Advisor.
