Gartner Buys Supply Chain Research and Conference Specialist

IT industry analyst Gartner has acquired UK-headquartered SCM World, which provides subscription-based training, research and conferences for supply chain practitioners. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Oliver SloaneEstablished in 2009, SCM World offers access to a corporate community through which it provides membership programmes for senior supply chain practitioners; offers peer networking; and delivers practitioner insights and predictive research through virtual learning, interactive conferences and events, and a library of research and case studies. The firm, which has offices in London, UK and Boston, US, employs approximately 60 associates led by CEO Oliver Sloane (pictured).

Through the deal, Gartner will introduce SCM World's complementary supply chain services to Gartner clients and Gartner's supply chain-focused research and advisory services to SCM World clients. Additionally, Gartner will develop an expanded range of supply chain products and services for both companies.
