Symphony EYC Buys Category Management Firm

Customer insights specialist Symphony EYC has acquired category management specialist Metiri Mensus, which has offices in Sydney, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Established in 1994, Metiri Mensus focuses on retail merchandising solutions, space optimisation software solutions, and category management, and it is the exclusive regional distributor of the Symphony GOLD Merchandising and Category Management solutions. The acquisition follows Symphony EYC's recent acquisition of UK-based Fifth Dimension, which offers retailers and CPG manufacturers a range of store planning, 3D store and product visualisation solutions, along with Symphony EYC's opening of operations in Shanghai and Singapore.

As part of the latest deal, Alan Pengelly (pictured), the owner and CEO of Metiri Mensus will remain as a Director of the regional business, while Symphony GOLD has promoted European Sales Executive Nicolas Cron to Asia Pacific Strategic Sales Director and relocated him to Bangkok.
