Millward Brown Wins Apologies over Breach

Following a High Court settlement, Millward Brown has received public apologies from MetrixLab and its UK MD Angela Morgans, over the passing of confidential information.

MB Wins apology over the passing of confidential informationMorgans spent just over eight years at Millward Brown, working for its digital practice Dynamic Logic and then as Commercial Director and Group Head: Sales and Client Management, before leaving to join MetrixLab in July 2014.

Last week Millward Brown (UK) Ltd and parent firms Kantar and WPP obtained apologies from both Morgans and MetrixLab UK Limited. The former stated:

The terms of settlement are confidential but I regret the circumstances in which I left my employment with Millward Brown and that it has led to this dispute. I apologise unreservedly for my actions in taking confidential information belonging to Millward Brown and the events that led to this dispute, but I am pleased that the parties have reached a mutually acceptable conclusion.

The statement from Netherlands-based online specialist MetrixLab acknowledges that the company 'did not ensure all compliance standards of our industry were adhered to [or] take the appropriate steps to discourage Angela from retaining confidential information and sharing it with MetrixLab'.
