Firms Launch 'Connecting Africa' Community
Market research, events and publishing company Light Reading has partnered with conference business KNect365 to launch an online community called 'Connecting Africa', which will track, analyze and report on developments in the continent's communications market.
The new community will provide news coverage and analysis of events that are shaping digital Africa. Topics covered will include mobile money, broadband connectivity, digital inclusion, big data and IoT, and the development of smart cities. Leading the editorial coverage is Community Managing Editor Amy Turner (pictured), who will be supported by Light Reading's Editor-in-Chief Ray Le Maistre and News Editor Iain Morris.
Commenting on the launch, Le Maistre said: 'Many markets in Africa have made significant progress towards becoming a digital society, supported by enhanced international connectivity and greater investments in fixed and mobile connectivity, and have led the way in developing innovative mobile finance services. This is a great time to be launching a dedicated online community that tracks the many different communications developments that are impacting individuals, businesses and whole nations'.
